Elsie Hoover Piano Studio

I'm an Edmonton area based piano teacher who has studied music extensively for 17 years. I am currently finishing a Bachelor of Music Degree in both piano and organ under Dr. Joachim Segger and Dr. Marnie Giesbrecht. Last summer I was awarded the Johann Strauss Foundation Scholarship and studied at the Mozarteum Academy in Salzburg, Austria. In addition to studying internationally under Dr. Leonel Morales and Dr. Daejin Kim, I have also competed in a variety of national and international competitions, including the Canadian Music Competition, the Royal Canadian College of Organists Edmonton Scholarship Competition. I have studied pedagogy with Janna Olson, an expert in the Edwin Gordon theory of music teaching.

As well as teaching, I also am an accompanist for many gigs across Edmonton, including being the accompanist for the Edmonton Christian Male Choir, substitute accompanist for university music students and I am a music director at St. Mary's Anglican Church.
